Community Partners

Metro Council for Teen Potential Coalition

Metro Council for Teen Potential (MCTP) is a coalition of youth-serving organizations that promotes youth development and youth health in the City’s most stressed neighborhoods.  Baden Street Settlement has been the host agency for MCTP for over 20 years.

The City of Rochester is the lead agency for our collaborative project called RISE, which engages youth (ages 12 to 17) with comprehensive sexuality education. The City also maintains R Centers, where MCTP staff deliver youth development programming. MCTP partners with the City on a program that supports parents to better communicate with their children about healthy behaviors and sexuality.

Causewave
is a media partner which supports the LARC Initiative.

Rochester City School District
supports MCTP health educators to deliver sexuality education curricula to students in grades 8 through 12.

SPCC
 delivers programs for teen parents.

United Way conducts community needs assessment and staff training on topics such as Design Thinking or Youth Mental Health.

YMCA
delivers programs for teen parents.

Monroe County Dept of Public Health provides data about teen birth, teen pregnancy, STI rates and other youth health information and administers the Youth Risk Behavior Survey. MCTP helps to publicize the results of the Youth Risk Behavior Survey to the community.

Planned Parenthood is the lead agency for the In Control initiative, which engages youth (ages 12 to 17) with sexuality education and youth development opportunities.

Rochester Community TV / WXIR supports a youth radio club that is facilitated by RCTV staff and that meets at facilities at RCTV / WXIR. Planned Parenthood also delivers an after-school media club for youth at the RCTV facility.

University of Rochester Medical Center is a partner in the LARC initiative, which informs health providers and young adults about the benefits of long-lasting contraception.
