Baden Street Settlement Inc. Billing Assistant

● Billing Assistant will assist the Billing Manager in the agency billing department for the
following programs (CD Clinic, Health Home, MSC, Respite, HCBS and (Mental Health
Clinic-after go live)).
● Work Schedule will be Monday – Friday, 8:00 am – 5:00 pm.
● Under the billing manager supervision the following duties and responsibilities will be assigned
and must be adherer to:
❖ assist with preparing medical claims for all Medicaid, MCO and Commercial Insurance
payers for Baden, Run reports in eCR on a daily basis Reviews Responsible Party charges for
verification of insurance and makes corrections as needed
❖ Requests authorizations for program specific prior authorizations and when required by payer
❖ Reviews and corrects any front end billing edits prior to forwarding billing reports and
documentation to billing manager for timely processing of claim batches to clearinghouse by
working directly with 10e11 and/or billing manager. When needed batches claims and
uploads to clearinghouse or directly to payer reviews, corrects and resubmits any
clearinghouse or insurance claim rejection error messages by working directly with
clearinghouse or 10e11 when needed. Assume the responsibility of receiving and sorting
incoming payments with attention to credibility
❖ Post all payments timely and accurately into 10e11
❖ Keep patient accounts accurate and updated by ensuring all clients remain informed of any
insurance issues by provide solutions to any relative problems to clients and refereeing the
client to an insurance representative
❖ Write thorough reports on billing activity with clear and reliable data along with the issuing
of necessary paperwork
❖ Billing assistant will undertake a variety of financial and non-financial tasks in order to help
guarantee the company’s revenues and workflow in the billing department
❖ Might be required to assist with other projects as needed or perform other duties as assigned
❖ Phone communication and/or face communication with insurances and/or patients
❖ Become familiar with and adhere to Medicaid, MCO and private insurance guidelines
❖ Registration of patients when necessary
❖ Cross train to assist as back up for receptionist, intake and medical records when necessary
